We incorporated in 1985 as an Insurance Agency (Prince and Associates) selling Life insurance, Disability and Investments.
By 1989 we gravitated to developing a simplified disability product offering.
In 1993 we introduced a new disability concept into the Canadian Insurance marketplace by providing injury disability coverage separately from Illness, allowing the injury coverage to be offered without medical underwriting. Illness could then be added with a simplified underwriting process.
In 1996 we sold our first Edge Plan! We recognized that self-employed individuals had a lifestyle funded with an income way above their "earned Income" so we introduced benefits based on "Gross Revenue".
Since that time Edge has grown to become the largest independent distributor of living benefits in Canada
The EDGE disability plan has been upgraded year over year with a wide range of features and enhancements, continuing to make us a leader in the disability marketplace.
We have expanded our product portfolio to provide all living benefits that help safeguard the lifestyles of our customers.
Our claims customer care unit has expanded to serve our customers when they need us most - At claim time!
RBC Insurance Company is the insurer of our Disability, Roadside, and Business Overhead plans.
RBC Insurance Company of Canada is the provider of our Emergency Travel Medical Plan.
ACE Canada is the underwriter of all EDGE special risk lines, including Accidental Death and Dismemberment, Guaranteed Issue Critical Illness; Life (Final Expense) and Fracture Accident coverage.
Green Shield Canada is the provider of our Health and Dental coverage
